Ms Ivana Borrett

Ms Ivana Borrett

Ivana has specialty interests in therapy for mood disorders, anxiety, stress, trauma, addictions, personality and relationship issues, and adjustment to change. She is also interested in pain management and difficulties with eating and body image.

Ivana brings extensive life experience to the therapy setting and can relate well to the clients from diverse social and cultural backgrounds. She works with adults and ‘mature’ adolescents.

Treatment Approach

Respect for the individual and their situation, while working together in mutual collaboration, guide Ivana’s approach to the therapeutic relationship as she helps clients to find their unique path back towards well-being.

Ivana applies an integrated therapeutic approach, adjusted to meet the needs of individual clients. She has received specialty training in a wide range of treatment modalities including Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Systemic Family Constellations Therapy, Ericksonian Hypnosis, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy . Her approach to treatment also utilises Narrative Therapy and Motivational Interviewing and is set within the existential psychotherapy and mindfulness-based frameworks.

Clinical Training and Experience

Ivana has over two decades of experience in applying mindfulness as the pathway to well-being. She holds a Bachelor of Psychology (Class I Honours) and a Master of Psychology (Clinical Psychology). Her postgraduate thesis examined the impacts of the Mindful Eating Program as the way to help women to improve the relationship with their body and eating.

She is a fully registered psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and is a member of the Australian Psychological Association, and the Australian Association for Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy. She is an associate member the Australian Clinical Psychology Association, and EMDR Association of Australia.

 Dr David BosanquetDr David Bosanquet

Dr David Bosanquet is experienced in treating a wide range of psychological problems in adults, children, families and adolescents.

Treatment Approach

David has received specialist training in a wide range of treatment modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Child and Family Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Systems Theory, couples counselling, sex therapy and problem-solving approaches. He has experience in a wide range of issues including addictions, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, anger management, personality problems, stress and sexual problems. David’s main areas of interest are drug and alcohol counselling, family/child behavioural and relationship problems, and marriage/partner relationship counselling.

Clinical Training and Experience

David holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours (1st Class) in Psychology, a Master of Science and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Sydney. His doctoral thesis examined to what extent methamphetamine (ice) affects driving ability. This project involved testing the driving ability of illicit methamphetamine users in a driving simulator.

David is a fully registered psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society. He is eligible to provide Specialist psychological services under Medicare. He is also registered to provide psychological treatment services under Worker’s Compensation claims.

David has worked in private practice for a number of years and a number of public hospitals including Nepean Hospital, Blue Mountains Hospital and Westmead Hospital (Redbank House). He is currently in the process of expanding Allgood Psychology to service the Blue Mountains and Nepean districts.

Julie-Anne EnglandJulie-Anne England

As the office manager at Allgood Psychology Julie-Anne has nearly a decade of office and administration experience. Her background includes employment in various administrative and management roles – giving her a diversity of knowledge and practical experience.

Julie-Anne has enjoyed building on her professional knowledge and experience by completing recognised courses and certifications in office management, human resources and administration.

As the office manager, Julie-Anne directly supports Dr David Bosanquet by liaising with patients,  medical practitioners, and other relevant organisations. Julie-Anne combines professionalism with a welcoming manner to ensure the best possible service and a high level of proficiency for the Practice.
